Extract from the eTwinning project "Food: an open window to the world"
This project aims to make the students aware of the importance of knowing facts about food related to local farming, seasonal products, globalization and cultural traditions of the partner countries in order to make responsible choices for a healthy life style. It is connected to the theme of the Universal Exposition "Expo 2015": Food is knowledge. A network of schools (pre-primary and primary) developed different activities starting from the "children's esperential world " in order to get them to know origin of food, nutrients, food habits and traditions of other countries, local products (km 0), positive and negative aspects of globalization.
Gli alunni di 10 paesi Europei (Cipro, Finlandia, Francia, Germania, Grecia, Inghilterra, Italia, Polonia, Romania, Spagna) hanno confrontato le loro abitudini alimentari (orario e cibo) per poi organizzare una colazione Europea per il giorno di Natale utilizzando i cibi maggiormente comsumati nei diversi Paesi.
